Leather Bookbinding and Handmade Books & Journals

A mix of artisan skills contribute to every unique leather journal. From mathematical and design skills through to hand stitching and finishing.  And don't forget a keen eye for detail!

I was brought up in a rich textile area of the UK and stitched and crafted from a very young age.  A 'give it a go' book binding workshop some years ago caught my imagination and I'm happy to say I now work full time making books and journals in my studio in the Yorkshire Wolds.

Regular visits to family members in Spain allow me to search locally for new and vintage leathers.  Spain is well known for it's quality leather bags and shoes and, luckily for me, the area I visit is the heart of this industry.  Colours and finishes galore!  I love this as it allows me to produce truly unique pieces.

Of course, the inside of the book is important too; only top quality, acid free, fountain pen friendly paper is used. 

I particularly enjoy working with customers to produce highly personalised pieces - usually printed with their own photos or images, favourite music or lyrics, maps or country themed travel journals.

Everything is completely hand cut, punched, stitched and finished.
